Stephan began taking music at the age of 4 under the direction of his mother, Christiane Ermel - President of the ORMTA (Ontario Registered Music Teacher's Association) North Toronto Branch. Stephan worked with her until the age of 15 at which point he completed his Gr. 10 Piano with First Class Honours. During this time Stephan was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to play in various recitals and competitions garnering multiple awards for solo and duet competitions. After his success, however, Stephan decided to put his music training aside to focus on other artistic interests and academics. Pursuing his training as an actor (where he learned positive and effective communication skills) and beginning his studies at the University of Toronto. After a brief period away, Stephan has decided to head back to the piano to complete what he had left previously unfinished - his ARCT Performer's. Stephan is now in the midst of his preparation for his ARCT examination under the direction of his teacher Ronald Schmoll, and is simultaneously studying Philosophy at the University of Toronto.
